Funky Feet

Funky Feet for children aged between 2 and 6 years

The Funky feet programme is designed for Pre School and early years children aged 2-6. The sessions are energetic and dynamic, they will introduce the fundamentals of dance; co-ordination, rhythm, flexibility and agility.

Sessions start on Thursday 27th September 2007 at 4.15pm – 5.15pm at Seaton Delaval Community centre for 13 weeks

Funk Fusion

This dance session is hip-hop and street dance for children aged 6 –16.  The classes work on basic generic dance techniques but specialise in popular urban dance moves accompanied by the latest tunes by artists such as Beyonce and Usher.

Seaton Valley Spotlight

Spotlight is an A5 sized, colour glossy magazine, produced by Seaton Delaval resident Mandy Clarke, and distributed free to all homes and businesses in Seaton Valley.

It is produced monthly, and distributed to Seaton Sluice and New Hartley one month, and Seaton Delaval and Seghill the following month.

As well as providing information to residents on local events, it also features local interest articles and a forum for County Councillors, and is a directory of local shops and businesses.

SITA Help Clear Holywell Dene

SITA, The company that runs the Seghill Household Recycling Facility helped to clear Holywell Dene as a goodwill gesture to the Friends of Holywell Dene after the group’s secretary, Bill Thompson, attended a meeting at the landfill site by paying for an excavator to clear the undergrowth and open up the side of the Dene to create a better environment for wildlife and new plant growth and stop flooding of footpaths.

New Domain Name

New Sports Court

Following a grant from Barclays Spaces for Sport and Blyth Valley Council the new sports court pictured below was built. It is now being used and enjoyed by many of the local young people. It hosts markings for many different games, a goal at each end and basketball nets. It is positioned behind the  Seghill Rugby Club.

Dog Show Huge Success

The dog show that has been held today on the Welfare Field has Been a Huge success with tents from a Local Vets and Blyth Valley Dog Control; the vets also ran a name the dog competition and displays on caring for pets.  Many local dog owners visited the and entered the excellent  show; there was also refreshments avalible. Unfortunately the weather was slightly overcast with a light shower. It is hoped that there will be another show next year.
